Bill Thompson (sound artist)

Bill Thompson, Texas-born, is a composer, performer, and sound artist. His activities so far covered -- geographically -- the US of A and the UK. He studied music with private teachers in Austin (TX), did jazz at North Texas State University (studying jazz), and did a Masters in Composition at Texas State University (San Marcos, TX).

He worked with Clark Crawford and Brent Fariss, and co-founded Austin's New Music Co-Op. Since 2004 he studies with Pete Stollery at the University of Aberdeen. Since moving to the UK he has been active as performer, composer, sound artist, and workshop leader.

Bill appeared on Bremsstrahlung and State Sanctioned Recordings; he performed at the Austin Museum of Digital Art and as member of Discoveries XXXIII by the University of Aberdeen.
