William Thomas Stanfill (born January 13, 1947) is a former defensive end for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He attended the University of Georgia (UGA).

[edit] High school years

Stanfill attended Cairo High School in Cairo, Georgia, where he was a three-sport star in football, basketball, and track and field. In football, as a senior, he was named the Class Double-A Lineman of the Year after leading his team to three Region Championships. In basketball, as a senior, he led his team to the state championship and was named the state tournament MVP. In track and field, he added three state discus and one shot put Double-A titles.

Stanfill played defensive tackle at UGA from 1966 through 1968. He was awarded the Outland Trophy in 1968 and was named an All-American the same year. He received a B.S. degree from UGA in 1971.

Elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998, Stanfill lives in Leesburg, Georgia as of 2004 and is a real estate broker.
