Bill McGarry (footballer)

William Harry McGarry (born Stoke-on-Trent June 10, 1927 - 2005) was an England international football player and manager.

Bill played as a wing-half for Port Vale F.C. (1946-1951; 146 league appearances and five goals); Huddersfield Town F.C. (1951-1961; 363 and 25 goals) and Bournemouth & Boscombe F.C. (1961-1963; 78 appearances and two goals).

He also managed Bournemouth, Watford, Ipswich Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United.

He earned 4 caps for the England national football team, and was a member of the 1954 FIFA World Cup team. He also represented the English Football League and the English 'B' XI.
