Bill Leubscher
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A descendant of U.S. Senator Daniel Webster, Bill M. Leubscher was born and raised in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Born in 1980, he has neither officially held public office nor holds the tenure of age that so many of his colleagues do, but he is one of the few conservative leaders in the Chicago area and downstate Illinois.

[edit] Education and Background
Leubscher has an A.A. in Film & Theatre from Moraine Valley College and a B.A. in Film from Columbia College.
Always politically involved, he volunteered for many different campaigns including Patrick O'Malley's 2002 gubernatorial run and served on Chirinjeev Kathuria's 2004 U.S. Senate campaign. He was press secretary and spokesman for each of Ray Wardingley's Congressional attempts.
[edit] Political Figure
Ramsin Canon of Gapers Block wrote an editorial on Leubscher saying, "These right-wing ideologues think they can expunge the moderates as 'corrupt' and return the party to some 'true conservatism' it never really had."
Leubscher's biggest claim to fame is creating the controversial NoLaHood.com in which he alleged that Congressman Ray LaHood was not "fit to be in the Republican Party." This created statewide attention from conservatives and liberals alike. Many Republicans stood with Leubscher in denouncing LaHood for his comments on [Peter Fitzgerald] and other politicians; others chose to stand by LaHood.
In 2004, Leubscher ran for the Evergreen Park Library Board and again created controversy. The ballot listed three seats to vote on with one vacant. Leubscher ran a successful write-in campaign for the empty office. The city of Chicago claimed there were only two available seats on the board even though three appeared on the ballot and refused to let him hold office for the term he won. Leubscher did not contest the decision, but media including The Daily Southtown, a suburban Chicago newspaper, included editorials in his favor.
[edit] Career
Leubscher owns PhotoAirbrushing.com with another young political figure, Krystle Russin. The website is known for airbrushing photographs but is notorious for its creation of partisan political websites. The site claims to be "without any political bias" on each of its sites, which include NoLaHood.com and the Chicago Minuteman Project.
