Bill Kaiserman is a four-time Coty Award-winning designer. Throughout his career in the men's and women's fashion field, his reputation is synonymous with innovative and modern design concepts. During his career, Kaiserman is one of the few American designers to have established a design studio in the prestigious Italian design community in Milan and developed a designer business in Europe as well as Asia. He continues to be an innovative influence in the global fashion market with the recent introduction of Skins, a street-wear inspired sportswear collection for men and women. The collections feature innovative modern design in textured and coated fabrics through a unique coating process developed by Bill.
1970's - Bill Kaiserman founded the Rafael Company in '70. by '79, the company had US$30 million in sales for its men's and women's collections business, which included sportswear, clothing, eveningwear and swimwear. The designer also developed an international clothing licensing business (Van Gils, Netherlands) under the Bill Kaiserman Label. During this time Bill Kaiserman also won three Coty awards as well as the first ever Hall of Fame award for Best American Designer.
1980's - In '82 Bill Kaiserman moved to Milan, Italy, to develop an international designer business under Bill Kaiserman Label. During the eighties and through partnerships with international companies like Mitsui, and Kashiyana, the Bill Kaiserman Label grew in popularity in Europe, Asia and America. As for prestige and recognition of his design talent, Bill Kaiserman was the only American designer to receive the Cavaliere Del Lavoro (Knight of Work) award from the Italian government for his role in developing Italy's reputation in design, fabric and production innovation.
1990's/2000 - In the early 90's, Bill Kaiserman returned to the U.S. to develop a U.S. licensing business with companies like Hartz & Co.; Format; and Mondo. He has recently also helped other labels by designing new collections, such as Avirex's AVX line. In '97, Bill Kaiserman created Skin Finish, a revolutionary new coating for fabrics that is patent-pending. In '98, Bill Kaiserman launched Skins, a street-wear inspired sportswear collection for men and women. Skins being sold to American department and specialty stores. Before long, the Skins line will be licensed to other categories and sold to global retailers in Europe, Asia and South America.
