Bill Borcher

Bill Borcher(died 2003) was a college basketball coach at Oregon. He attended North Bend High School in Oregon, where he played both football and basketball. After graduating in 1937, he attended Oregon where he played basketball. After his short basketball player, he served in the Navy during World War II. From 1946 to 1951, he served as the head basketball coach at Marshfield High School.

His 1947 team won the state championship in basketball. That year, he founded the Oregon Jazz Band. From 1951 to 1956, he served as the head basketball coach at Oregon. He compiled a 69-68 record as the head coach at Oregon. In 1972, he founded the Sacramento Jubilee Festival which is the largest jazz festival in the world. In 2001, he was inducted into the North Bend High School hall of fame.
