Bike The Drive

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bike The Drive is a recreational event held each year in which Lake Shore Drive is opened exclusively to bicyclists for several hours beginning at dawn. Motor vehicles are prohibited from entering the Drive during this event, which benefits bicycling advocacy work in the region by the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation. For the past several years, Bike The Drive has been held on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The route extends nearly the entire length of the famous roadway, from 57th Street on the South Side to Hollywood Avenue on the North Side. The route length is 15 miles long beginning at Columbus and Balbo in Grant Park (Chicago).
