Nathan is taking a short wikibreak and will be back on Wikipedia when school slows down, which is probably after this semester. Four project classes, a normal homework/lecture based class, three labs and hunting for a job for my upcoming work term are collectively killing me.

I, Nathan, am a former lurker at Wikipedia. I'm a student of Software Systems Engineering at the University of Regina. I like eating, sideburns, and skipping classes.
Since you're here at my userpage, let me take an opportunity to make a shameless plug for WP:EQ. It's really a good read and if you have it fresh in your mind when you participate in the encyclopedia project, I promise you'll be a better editor because of it.
Every editor has their own preferences and habits for what they like to do on Wikipedia. I'm usually shifting my focus around so glean what you can from my userboxes and if you're keenly interested in what kind of editor I am, check out my Wikiblog below.
[edit] I am not an administrator
- This is an excerpt from an essay, User:BigNate37/I am not an administrator.
To avoid confusion and address some concerns I have seen from new users, no, I am not an administrator. While I try to get content deleted based on relevant policy and guidelines, I do not actually delete content. I'm awfully sorry if I caused your hard work in good faith contributions to be deleted, and I sincerely regret if anything I have done has caused your work to be wrongfully removed. I try to curb my personal desire to have things in Wikipedia deleted unless I can provide a valid reason for it through existing Wikipedia guidelines and policy, and I never search for topics I don't like to see if they can be deleted.
As a note, according to WP:OWN there is no such thing as your article, only articles you work on, take a personal interest in, and/or created. If you are the only contributor to the article, it is safe to say that you are its author. When I say your article you should interpret it as the article you created that we are all free to edit.
[edit] Good reading
Since I read a lot here, I decided to start a list of articles that I really appreciate; these are articles I suggest to others for reading.
[edit] Things to do
These are things I intend to do and/or a list of things I might like to do at any given moment so that I don't waste time searching multiple times for the same sorts of things.
[edit] Get some pictures
I've not yet taken any pictures for the project, but after I clean the garage and fix the kitchen table I'll get right on it. (That's a joke.)
- U of R: one for my userbox, and maybe some of the campus for the article itself.
- Hotel Saskatchewan: it has been requested that a photo be taken for the article.
[edit] Wikiblog
My "Wikiblog" is how I try to make available information on what I am currently working on at Wikipedia, both for my own reflection and for those who are interested. It is not a blog for my non-wikipedic news. I generally disapprove of blogging as a waste of time, but this is one situation where I believe it to be helpful. It uses transclusion, so do not edit it from the userpage. Edit this section at its actual page.
[edit] The Latest
- What's with all the "sign here" nonsense?
People are putting links in their signature to their "sign here" page. It's a subpage in their userspace where they try to get people's signatures... what is the point in all this? It just seems like needless vanity and server load—as if there wasn't enough (arguably) useless effort spent on having fun at Wikipedia. I think it should be frowned upon and we should start imposing limits on how wide a user's signature can be. I mean, lots of markup is one thing (one thing I'm guilty of myself), but a signature that's half my screen in width with links to every page in the user's userspace is a little offensive. 01:42, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
