[edit] Plot synopsis

The episode begins with Omi and Raimundo Pedrosa pouring milk into Clay Bailey's hat. Omi asks why they are doing this, and Raimundo says they have to make sure it can really hold ten gallons of cow milk, since it is a ten-gallon cowboy hat. Omi is amazed, not knowing that milk came from cows. Just then, Clay walks in, and he is furious! He chases Raimundo around the room, but is interrupted by Master Fung, who says that they have a visitor. It's Clay's father. As he walks around the temple, he is unimpressed with the environment, and tells Clay that he wants him to return to the ranch. Just then, Dojo Kanojo Cho runs in, yelling that a new Shen Gong Wu has revealed itself. He also comments that the star on Clay's father's jacket looks familiar. The new Shen Gong Wu is the Orb of Tornami. Dojo takes them to the old western town where it is, but Jack Spicer and Wuya already have it when they get there, and could have made a clean getaway, if not for Jack, having the need to gloat. Omi says he has a sneaky plan, but persuaded by his father, Clay charges right in. This is a grave mistake, and Jack flies off with the orb in hand. Daddy Bailey orders Clay to come back home, and never to return to the Xiaolin Temple.

Back at the temple, the rest of the dragons miss Clay, especially since Omi took it upon himself to imitate Clay's expressions. Just then, Dojo gets all shaky, and says that he senses another Shen Gong Wu. He realizes that the star on Clay's father was a Shen Gong Wu that had not yet been activated. They all fly to Clay's ranch on Dojo, and all the cows excite Omi, but Clay's father says they are meant for beef. Clay's father, after being asked, tells them that if they want his star, which is a family heirloom, they will have to prove themselves worthy, and they can start by waking up at dawn. The next morning, the gang is up and running, well, not Raimundo. Omi is excited to milk a cow, and Clay remembers that they have one cow, Old Bessie, that is used for dairy and lets Omi try milking her. Clay's father says that their first task is to take the cattle herd to the river for a drink. It does not take much effort, but Clay says that his father will not impress that easily. When Dojo wakes up, he hears rattling sounds and asks if those are maracas. A girl rattlesnake wraps herself around him, rubs her head against his neck, moves her tail around him and in front of him, and shakes her tail at him. Meanwhile, Omi tries to milk the cow, but he ends up being kicked onto the wind farm, into the chicken coop, inside the slop trough, and back to his friends. Jack Spicer comes by to claim the star, and uses the Orb to do so. Clay's dad underestimates Jack and his bots, and ends up being tied up. His star falls off, and sinks to the bottom of the flood. Jack and Clay grab it at the same time, so they get ready for a Xiaolin Showdown!

Clay throws the star into the barn, and says that they have to look through the haystack to find it. Clay uses the Serpent's Tail, while Jack, tired of the Orb, switches over to the Sword of the Storm. They are each given a flying saddle to ride on, and the showdown begins. Clay has the advantage, able to go right through the haystack with the Serpent's Tail, but is distracted by his father's constant shouting of orders. Jack uses the Sword to make a twister, and blow the entire haystack away. When Clay's dad shouts at him some more, Clay stands up to him, yelling at his father, saying he can do it on his own. With renewed confidence, Clay manages to win the Showdown, and two more Shen Gong Wu. Clay offers his father the star back, but he says Clay can keep it, and go back to the temple, seeing that Clay is truly a man.

After the showdown is over, Omi goes back to the barn to see Old Bessie one last time before he has to leave. Tricking Bessie, Omi quickly milks her, but then she kicks him once again. Omi lands in front of everyone else and proclaims that his job is finally done.
