Big Dogs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Big Dogs is a chain of stores in the United States which features clothing and apparel holding the "Big Dogs" brand name. Almost all of the shirts are parodies of different themes of pop culture (i.e. "Dog Wars", a parody of Star Wars featuring dogs). The main part of the store's business is graphic tee-shirts, and the company is known for its "tee walls" large displays containing all the new graphics featured on their tee-shirts. The company also makes Shorts, Rayon Shirts, Polos, Boxers, and other clothing. They also make many different accessories such as pens, canvas tote bags, dog leashes and colars, and dog toys. The company owns over 200 stores across the country. Their stores are normally found in Outlet malls.

Parade

Every year on the first Saturday in June the company hosts the annual "Big Dog Parade" as their annual corporate charity fundraiser. The parade occurs on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara near the corporate headquarters and the flagship store. Beginning at the intersection of State St. and De la Guerra St., the parade proceeds down State St. toward the beach, ending at the Canine Festival at Old Chase Palm Park. Prizes are given for Best in Parade, Best Costume, and Most Humorous Costume, among others. The parade's proceeds go towards the Big Dog Foundation, which "benefits dogs, children, and dogs that help people."
