[edit] Plot

Stan and Ollie play door-to-door Christmas tree salesmen in California. They end up getting into an escalating feud with grumpy would-be customer James Finlayson and eventually destroy his home while being observed by taciturn police officer Tiny Sandford.

[edit] Trivia

  • Hal Roach bought a house from a studio worker which would be destroyed in the film. According to Roach, the cast and crew destroyed the house next door instead by accident during filming, but Stan Laurel said this was a fabrication.
  • It is the second highest rated Laurel and Hardy film on the Internet Movie Database. Number one is The Music Box.
  • Ollie cries as well as Stan.
