Bierfest Valdivia is a major event celebrated in the city of Valdivia, southern Chile. It is a reduced version of Germany's oktoberfest, despite being celebrated every year in late January or February (summer in Chile). The main sponsor and organizer is Kunstmann Bier, Valdivia's regional beer company, founded like many other local companies by German immigrants, but since bought out by a larger national corporation.
