The Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Bielefeld) is the second largest education institution in Bielefeld. It divides itself into eight devisions (Fachbereiche):

  • FB1: Design (Gestaltung) - The FB1 is located in a separate building close to the Oetker Concert Hall. Three different branches of design and art available to the carefully selected students: "Photography & Media", "Graphic- and Communicationdesign" and "Fashion Design". There are accepted about 30 freshmen in each branch per year.
  • FB2: Electronics & IT
  • FB3: Engineering
  • FB4: Social Sciences
  • FB5: Economy
  • FB6: Architecture & Structural engineer
  • FB7: Mathematics & Technology
  • FB8: Health-care
