Biagio Ghetaldi

Biagio Ghetaldi also Vlaho Getaldić (born in Ragusa 22 December 1788, - died in Ragusa 27 October 1872). He was member and president of the Council "Reign of Dalmatia" based in the city of Zara (Zadar), which consisted of eight individuals, he was grand-nephew of the renowned Marin Getaldić. Biagio married with Anna Bosdari. His cousin, podesta of Ragusa, Segismondo Ghetaldi-Gondola married with the sister of Anna "Malvina Orsole" Bosdari (Per le faustissime nozze de’ nobili signori Biagio de Ghetaldi e Sigismondo de Ghetaldi-Gondola con le nobili signore Anna ed Orsola de Bosdari. Versi. Ragusa : Presso Antonio Martecchini, 1828). The Austrian Empire gave him the title of Baron/Freiherr in 1846. In 1865 Biagio translated Osman (by Ivan Gundulic), into latin hexameter parameter. Biagio was a descendant of Gundulić through his mother's line.
