---Bhit Shah Island.

One can reach this island by boat taken from Kemari in Karachi. It takes 15 to 20 minutes. Its inhabitants are mainly Rajput Bhattis, hence the name Bhit or (locally called) Baba Bhit. Sub cast is Kachhi. Their native language is Kachhi, similar to Memani language of Memon Community of Indo-Pak. Lively hood of the inhabitants is primarily fishing and they work in Karachi harbor area providing a mix of both skilled and unskilled labor. Literacy level on the island is quite low. There is no cultivation on the island, no agriculture for trade purposes. Sanitation conditions are very poor. As with rest of the poor localities of Karachi district, lack of proper planning is evident. Being in the close proximity of the Karachi City, its climate is same as of the city.
