Bhavana (born 6 June 1985) is a South Indian actress who acts in Malayalam and Tamil) movies. She made her debut in Kamal's Nammal which won her critical acclaim and various honours, including the State award.

This Thrissur girl, whose real name is Karthika, is the daughter of Asst. Cinematographer, G.Balachandran and Pushpa. She has one brother named Jayaddev who is currently studying at the Vancouver Film School in Canada.

She debuted in Malayalam film Nammal opposite newcomers like Siddharth, Jishnu and Renuka Menon. The film was a big success and she got several offers in Malayalam. She has acted with almost all actors of Malayalam including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Jayaram, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya etc. Though she got several Tamil films she refused them due to tight schedules. Most of her Malayalam films are big hits and she is one of the top Mollywood and Kollywood actresses. Her first Tamil film was Koodal Nagar opposite Bharath but shelved due to some technical difficulties. Her first released Tamil film Chithiram Pesuthadi was a huge success. After that she was flooded with offers in Kollywood.Her latest release Deepavali is getting good reviews. Her next projects are Koodal Nagar, Arya, Naan Kadavul, Rameswaram and Chota Mumbai. She is also planning to shift to Telugu films. She openly declares that she never does overglamourous roles. She even refused to act in a Telugu film of Krishnavamsi. Her latest news is that she refused to be part of Simbu's new movie Kettavan because she thinks Simbu's image is tarnished in Tamil cinema these days and she doesn't want to associate with him.
