Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), located in Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu state, India, is a glittering example of industry-academia partnership. BIM was started in 1984, as a collaborative venture between Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Bharathidasan University.

HISTORY



Bharathidasan Institute of Management was set up in the year 1984, as a result of the vision of Shri. C.Subramanian and Prof. P.S.Mani Sundaram, the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University. Housed inside the campus of the industrial giant BHEL, it is the country’s first management institute to have a interactive relationship with the industry in all aspects, right from its location to its activities.

BIM, as one of the leading management institutes of the country, offers one of the most coveted MBA programs in India. Its spectrum of students covers people from varied educational backgrounds, careers and cultures. Admission, governed by a rigorous procedure, covers an annual intake is 120 students, who share an appetite for learning and an ability to excel. While the focus of its programme is to groom students to be competent managers and accomplished leaders, BIM also lays an emphasis on core values, that will produce good citizens, who recognize the value of being upright and contribute to society.

INTAKE



BIM has been providing world class management education through its two-year full-time MBA programme. Over the last two decades, BIM has risen to prominence as one of the premier management institutes in India. Currently, BIM has an annual intake of 120 students, based on CAT scores.

- Winners in Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition (GSEC) 2005 conducted by University of Washington at Seattle

The Honourable President of India Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, has recommended BIM to Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) for training its scientists in management.
