Bey Logan

Bey Logan (born 1963) is a respected expert on Asian cinema, particularly Hong Kong action cinema. He is also notable as a screenwriter and as a martial artist who has had (usually minor) roles in a number of films, including The Twins Effect.

He is the author of Hong Kong Action Cinema, an introduction to the subject, and has also provided the DVD audio commentary for numerous Hong Kong movies released in the UK.

He was born John Joyce in 1963 in Stamford, England. The pseudonym Bey Logan shares the same initials (BL) as his hero Bruce Lee.

He has been based in Hong Kong since 1995.

In 1996 he married Ponnie Leung, and they had three children together before getting divorced in 2004. He attributes his conversion to Buddhism to his wife.

In 2006 Logan moved from working with Hong Kong Legends on their DVD releases in the United Kingdom to Vice President of Asian Acquisitions & Co-Productions at The Weinstein Company, where he oversees the company's Dragon Dynasty brand of Asian titles.
