Betsy V. Boze (pronunciation rhymes with rose) is an American academic and university administrator.

[edit] Kent State University Stark Campus
Dr. Boze [1] is the chief executive officer, Dean and Professor of Marketing at Kent State University Stark Campus [2] in North Canton (Stark County) Ohio. Kent State University Stark Campus serves over 10,000 students annually: 5,300 in master, baccalaureate and associate degree programs, over 5,000 in executive education. Another 50,000 execitives amd managers participate in training and certification programs through the campus' Professional Education and Conference Center [3].

She has held full time faculty and administrative appointments at St. Bonaventure University [4] in Olean, New York, University of Maryland University College (Japan, Germany and Italy) [5] , Centenary College of Louisiana[6] and The University of Alaska Anchorage [7] where she was appointed Business Administration Department Chair and elected President of the Faculty Senate. Boze was selected as the inaugural Dean of the School of Business at The University of Texas at Brownsville [8] and Texas Southmost College and served as Assistant to the President and American Council on Education Fellow [9] at Tulane University [10].

Dr. Boze served as the Chief Academic Officer of The University of Texas System "UT TeleCampus" MBAO, and held a Research Faculty appointment as Co-Director of the [Texas Ports & Waterways] at Texas A&M University. She was a Visiting Faculty for Portland State University in Khabarovsk [Хаба́ровск] in the former Soviet Union and Graduate Assistant for The University of Texas at Dallas and The [[[University of Arkansas]]] (Fayetteville, Arkansas).

Dr. Boze attended Southfield School and graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a Masters in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She studied international management at Thunderbird - The Garvin School of International Management Thunderbird in Glendale, Arizona, Spanish language at ITESM, Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico, and Japanese language at International Christian University (ICU) in Mitaka, Japan. Boze earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration (major in marketing, minors in economics and sociology) from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Some of Dr. Boze's post-doctoral studies include The University of Hawaii Pan Asian Institute (1990), HERS Bryn Mawr Higher Education Resource Symposium, Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration (1996), AASCU (American Association of State Colleges and Universities) Millennial Leadership Institute (2002), American Council on Education Fellowship (2003-2004) and the Harvard University Seminar for New Presidents (2005).
Boze is a graduate of Leadership Texas (1996), Leadership America (2003) and Leadership Stark County (2005).

Boze has published over 50 peer-refereed research articles and book chapters on marketing and business administration. She has written and speaks publicly on higher education administration on distance education, technology and women's issues. Boze was one of the master planners and creators of the University of Texas TeleCampus, the University of Texas System web based, virtual university. She is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in American Women and Who's Who in the World.

Dr. Boze is a trustee on the boards: American Cancer Society (Ohio) Canton Museum of Art, Greater Canton Chamber of Commerce, Mayor's Literacy Commission (Canton, OH), Ohio Area Health Education Centers, Ohio Citizens for the Arts, Paul and Betty McDonald Foundation, Stark Development Board and the Stark Education Partnership P-16.
Regionally she serves as President of the Ohio Association of Regional Campuses, the Jackson-Belden Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee of the Stark Development Board, the Strategic Planning Committee of the Stark County YMCA and the Greater Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Committee.
Select national appointments include the Editorial Board of the American Council on Education Network News, the Finance Committee of the American Council on Education Council of Fellows, American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Women Presidents and Chancellors affinity group and the AASCU Policies and Practices Committee.
Dean Boze is a member of the Junior Leagues of Shreveport, Louisiana and Canton, Ohio, Brookside Country Club (Ohio), First United Methodist Church (Shreveport, LA) and a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America. She is also a member and/or contributor to a number of environmental, fine and performing arts, educational and alumni oranziations.

President, Southwest Business Deans President, Texas Council of Collegiate Education in Business (Texas College and University Business Deans) President, Junior Achievement (Texas) President, Delta Delta Delta Alumni Chapter (Rio Grande Valley) President, Girl Scouts Susitna Council (Alaska) President, Delta Delta Delta Alumni Chapter (Alaska) Boze served from 1996-2005 as the State Coordinator of the American Council on Education Women's Network for Texas, and continues to serve on the editorial board of the ACE Network News. From 1997-2005 she chaired WAME the Women Administrators in Management Education (the women's affinity group) of AACSB (Association for the Advancement of Colleges and Schools of Business). Boze was Co-Director of the Texas Ports and Waterways Commission of the Texas Transportation Institute, on the boards of Success by Six (Brownsville, TX), Girl Scouts of the USA (Texas), Girl Scouts of the USA.

A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Dr. Boze is the daughter of the late Dr. Leroy Vogel (Cultural Attache to post-war Germany and Chief Academic Officer of Centenary College of Louisiana) and Betty Garrett Vogel McDonald (travel writer, broadcaster and community volunteer) and step-daughter of the late Paul Cranford McDonald (President, Murphy Oil Company, Canada). She is the mother of three children;
She is the mother of three children. Her oldest son, Chris, is in flight school and lives in Anchorage, Alaska; her daughter Broox Boze is studying zoology and finishing graduate school at Colorado State University; and her youngest son Lee-Gray Boze is a senior at the University of Montana studying geology and specializing in caves.
