Bethlehem Records

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bethlehem Records was a record label bought by King Records mainly remembered for its jazz releases. It was the record company under which Nina Simone's 1958 debut album came out (Little Girl Blue).

The Bethlehem Label was purchased by the Cayre Brothers (of Salsoul Records fame), who initially intended to release its back catalog for inexpensive 8-track tapes in the 1970's. Salsoul and Bethlehem fall under the same corporate umbrella, with Bethlehem credited as the primary distributorship for North America.
