Beth Liebling, born in 1967, co-founded with guitarist/keyboardist/samplist Ryan Campbell [1], a.k.a. "Cambell 2000", the experimental instrumental group Hovercraft [2] in 1993 in Seattle, Washington, and played bass for the band under the stage name "Sadie 7."

Prior to forming the trio Hovercraft, Liebling and Campbell had played together in Space Helmet, which formed when Liebling moved to Seattle. Space Helmet broke up when Campbell moved to New York and the other members of Space Helmet, including Campbell's brother, formed the band Magnog. Ryan Campbell's departure for New York was short and upon his return, Hovercraft was formed and contined to record until 1999.

Liebling was included in the grunge music documentary Hype! which films a Hovercraft rehearsal.

On 3 June 1994 Liebling married longtime boyfriend Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam in Rome, Italy. The relationship had not always been a smooth one. Describing his relationship with Liebling Vedder said: "Relationships can be tough. There are times -- I end up putting a lot of time into this music thing. I don't sleep at night. I think I'm probably a very difficult person to deal with. Things never seem to settle down and be normal, and I think that Beth has to deal with a lot. I don't want to get into our personal relations. But at times there is a tension... We are all selfish at heart, I guess. But I just know that without her, I'd be a kite without a string, a nothing man." [3]The couple divorced in September 2000. Commenting upon his divorce Vedder described it as devastating.[4]

After a brief hiatus from music, Liebling sat in on sessions with various groups in Los Angeles and participated in a group called Lola. Currently she lives in Chicago, where she paints, writes, and is working on her own record for 2007-08.
