Once a prominent New York City Fifth Avenue retailer, Best & Co. was founded in 1879, and closed in 1971. The dead brand was revived in 1997 by Susie Hilfiger as a retailer of classic children's clothes in Greenwich, Connecticut.[1] The company was known for its trunk shows that navigated the East Coast. Along with Abercrombie & Fitch, it was one of the dead brands listed in Lisa Birnbach's cheeky The Official Preppy Handbook that has since been revived.
