[edit] Considerable potential for expansion

I believe this is now a good starter article. There is considerable potential for expansion using the materials found in the "further reading" and external links. - Jmabel | Talk 08:22, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] His name

I cite some slightly vague remarks by his brother Lawney Reyes as to when Bernie started calling himself "Bernie Whitebear" rather than "Bernie Reyes"; Lawney implies that it was around 1970. I suspect that it may have been earlier; we may be able to sort this out if we can find pre-1970 source documents. - Jmabel | Talk 08:22, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
