• should this be moved to list_of_Berretta_92_models or given a better introduction/more talk of the Berretta 92 generally and what these pistols have in common etc?

Personally, I'd rather just see one article, with a brief explanation of all the different models available. See Heckler & Koch MP5.

I second this opinion, the Beretta articles desperately need to be merged, with only one page for the Model 92, listing all of the variants.

There are two or more pages on related subjects that have a large overlap. Wikipedia is not a dictionary; there does not need to be a separate entry for every concept in the universe.
