Article policies

The article states that there are no alternative magazine manufacturers. Pro Mag industries produces a very good aftermarket magazine for this handgun.

Put it in an infobox if you must but in it's current format, it isn't what Wikipedia is looking for. --Celestianpower háblame 21:49, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't think it is right to delete 90% of an article's content. If there is a copyright violation then bring it up in Talk: before you delete the information. --Jrash 00:14, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, look at the lead for instance, "ntroduced in the late 1990's by Argentinian firearms manufacturer BERSA, S.A., the Thunder 380 is a small semi-automatic pistol that has enjoyed popularity due to its reputation for reliability, light weight and concealability, accuracy at short to medium range, and relatively low price." - blatant advertising so I removed it. That list is just an indiscriminate collection of information (forbidden by WP:NOT). In my eyes, the articles is practically unredeemable. --Celestianpower háblame 00:22, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't think that violates a NPOV because the gun IS very popular and it does have a reputation for being reliable and accurate. Would it violate a NPOV to state that the gun was prone to jamming if that were true? --Jrash 00:34, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Well, certainly if it didn't have a source (and it didn't). With a credible source, you can make statements like that but otherwise, it's just the POV of the author. --Celestianpower háblame 12:24, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

It's not an advertisement, that's one of the reasons that this weapon is extremely popular -- it's low price and that fact that it's not a Saturday Night Special. This weapon has proven to be more reliable than the Walter PPK it is modeled after.
Please find a reliable source for that assertion and we can add it in. --Celestianpower háblame 11:48, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

I'll say this; I've fired the gun many times and I feel that accuracy is one of its weak points. It drops left. (unsigned)

Switch to 102 grain Remington Golden Saber BJHP. You'll be amazed. Sadena 13:26, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Firing Pin Block Variant

I added the following, I'm sure this can be better explained. I have one of the Thunder 380s that feature an automatic firing pin block that is disconnected when the trigger is fully extended when not influenced by an engaged manual safety or the ILS. "Some productions also feature an automatic firing pin block." Please reword this if someone can explain this better. This variation is notated in the expanded parts diagram of the current Bersa english translation manual.

[edit] Geocities link

Why was the Bersa Thunder Resource Site and Forum link removed? The page referenced there is one of the absolute best resources for information on this handgun. Of all the links on this page, that one is the most useful. Lord Bodak 15:52, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, my bad. I misinterpretted the style guide. Please add it back. --Celestianpower háblame 16:58, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
