According to Law of 22 April 1941 n. 633, revised by the law of 22 May 2004, n. 128 article 87 and article 92, all non artistic photographs enter the public domain after 20 years counted from the beginning of the following calendar year (ie. as of 2006, prior to the 1st of January, 1986) after they were first published. Artistic photographs enter the public domain after 70 years. This does not apply in the United States and further justification must be provided for the work to be usable on Wikipedia. |
