Bertram L. Podell

Bertram L. Podell (December 27, 1925 - August 17, 2005) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from New York. Born in Brooklyn, Podell attended St. John's University and Brooklyn Law School. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1946. He was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1954 until 1968. He was elected to Congress in 1968 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Abraham J. Multer and served from February 20, 1968 until January 3, 1975. He died in New York City.
