Bertalan Pór

Bertalan Pór (1880-1964) was a Hungarian painter. Por was a student of László Gyulay in the School of Industrial Design. He continued hist studies in Munich under the German master G. von Hackl. He attended Simon Hollósy's school for a short time, and studied with Jean Paul Laurens at the Julian Academy in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. He returned to Hungary and begain his career as a popular portrait painter. He also worked as a fresco painter.
After the fall of the Hungarian Republic, he emigrated to Slovakia. He painted landscapes and pictures of animals. Por travelled to France, Italy, and the Soviet Union on artistic patronage.
