Berrylands is a residential neighbourhood in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
It is a suburban development situated 10.1 miles (16.2 km) south west of Charing Cross.
Originally farmland, the area was developed for housing in the 1930s. It contained a Lido (swimming pool), the 'Surbiton Lagoon' at grid reference TQ19606725.[1][2] Kingsmeadow stadium is nearby, home of Kingstonian F.C. plus AFC Wimbledon. It is home to the sports ground of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
It has since become renowned for the 'Brave New World' bar which regularly plays host to live music.[3]
Before 1965 it formed part of the Municipal Borough of Surbiton.
