Berri (singer)

Berri (real name: Rebecca Sleight) is an English singer born in York most famous for her hit single Sunshine after the Rain released in 1995, (Originally a hit for Elkie Brooks in 1977). After her hit single she went into a number of bands, the most recent being Degrassi hailing from Tooting Bec. A band made up of an eclectic mix of musicians. Sunshine after the Rain was released twice, peaking at number 26 in December 1994 and at number 4 in August 1995. For the first release, the credits were for "New Atlantic/U4EA featuring Berri". Berri got a full credit on the second release, which was the 45th biggest UK single of 1995. The follow up single, Shine Like a Star peaked at number 20 in December 1995.
An album, About Time was released in 1995. It is now sought after and has a high asking price second-hand.
