Bernard Lewis (entrepreneur)

Bernard Lewis is the English entrepreneur behind the River Island fashion brand and clothing chain. He was born in February 1926 and opened his first shop aged 20 selling fruit and veg in the North London area (on Holloway Road).

At the age 80, "Mr Bernard" (which is the name he is known by staff at River Island) is still involved in the day to day running of the group and is known to visit many of the companies stores at weekends with his wife Vanessa.
