Bernard Derome

Bernard Derome (born January 10, 1944 in Montreal, Canada) is a Canadian news anchor for La Société Radio-Canada Television, who currently anchors the weeknight editions of Le Téléjournal.

In 1994, he was made a Member of the Order of Canada. In 2006, he was made an Officer of the National Order of Quebec.

He is famous for a number of tag-lines, including his signature closing "Merci d'avoir été là; à demain," (thank you for having been there; see you tomorrow), and his climactic election-night recitation "Si la tendance du vote se maintient, Radio-Canada prévoit l'élection de..." (if current trends hold, Radio Canada predicts the election of...).
