Bering Air

Bering Air (IATA: 8E, ICAO: BRG, and Callsign: Bering Air) [1] is an airline headquartered in Nome, Alaska, USA. It operates domestic scheduled passenger and charter services, as well as air ambulance and helicopter services. Its main base is Nome Airport, with hubs at Ralph Wien Memorial Airport, Kotzebue and Unalakleet Airport[2]

The airline was established in September 1979 and started operations on 3 October 1979. It was founded, and is wholly owned, by James Rowe (president and General Manager) and Christine Rowe. It has 95 employees[2].

Domestic scheduled services link 32 destinations in western Alaska with hubs in Nome, Kotzebue and Unalakleet. Passenger and cargo charter services are flown from Kotzebue and Nome to USA destinations, Canada and Russia[2].

Bering Air operates services to the following 31 domestic destinations as of 2006[citation needed]: Ambler, Brevig Mission, Buckland, Council, Deering, Elim, Gambell, Golovin, Kiana, Kivalina, Kobuk, Kotzebue, Koyuk, Little Diomede, Noatak, Nome, Noorvik, Point Hope, Port Clarence, Savoonga, Selawik, Shaktoolik, Shishmaref, Shungnak, St. Michael, Stebbins, Teller, Tin City, Unalakleet, Wales, and White Mountain.

Bering Air offers charter service from Nome and Anchorage to Anadyr and Provideniya in the Russian Far East.
