Berinag

Berinag, a tiny hill station, is located 10 km from Chaukori in the Pithoragarh district, the most eastern Himalayan district in the state of Uttarakhand , India. It is accessible by road.[1]

At a height of 1750, Bering offers a majestic view of the Himalayas snow covered peaks with spectacular Himalayan sunrises and sunsets. This is a quiet and little-known place famous for its natural beauty. Bering was once know for its tea estates and the climate is favorable for the growing of tea which some local people cultivate.
The area has a number of Nag (snake) temples of Dhaurinag, Feninag, Kalinag, Bashukinag, Pinglenag, and Harinag. Other tourist spots are Tripura Devi Temple, Cave Temple of Koteshwar, Garaun waterfalls, and Musk Deer Farm at Kotmanya. The Berinag is named after the Nagveni King Benimadhava.[2]
