Berceni, Ilfov

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Berceni is a commune in the southeastern part of Ilfov county, Romania.

Its name is derived from the Hussars of Miklós Bercsényi, who fought the Kurucs wars in early 18th century and eventually settled near Bucharest.[citation needed]

Although it's only 5 kilometers close to Bucharest, the commune has currently no running water, no trash collecting, and no sewage system.

There is also a neighbourhood in Bucharest with the name of Berceni.
