Berbee Information Networks Corporation, until its purchase by CDW, was a privately-held company. Berbee was founded in 1993 by James G. Berbee and it grew to over 300 million USD in revenue and more than 800 employees at the time of its sale in October, 2006. The company is headquartered in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.
In October of 2006 Berbee accepted an acquisition offer from CDW. The $175 million all-cash purchase was closed on October 11, 2006. Subsequent working capital purchasing adjustments brought the final price to about $185 million.
Berbee's IT solutions include network infrastructure, systems and storage, productivity applications, communication and collaboration, application development and security. Berbee's data centers deliver hosted applications, co-location, and managed services. Berbee has offices in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
Berbee was recently recognized as the U.S. IP Communications Partner of the Year for 2005. The award, given to Cisco partners for outstanding achievement, was presented to Berbee on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the Cisco Partner Summit in San Diego, California.
The award recognizes Berbee for its customer satisfaction levels, revenue growth and technical leadership around Cisco’s IP Communications solutions, including business voice systems, contact center technologies and collaboration software solutions. In 2005, Cisco presented Berbee with the “Global IP Communications Partner of the Year” award for 2004.
Berbee was also recently recognized by Microsoft by being awarded a 2006 Worldwide Partner Award – Advanced Infrastructure and by being named 2006 Central Region Partner of the Year.
In addition, IBM recognized Berbee with a Beacon Award for Best IBM iSeries On-Demand Solution at the IBM PartnerWorld Beacon Awards competition. Berbee was acquired by and now is a division of CDW.
