Again, welcome!  --MPerel ( talk | contrib) 21:28, 24 October 2005 (UTC) On the topic of pictures. When I can put them up? When can't I? How do I do it? Also, what to do if I find a page that has been copied and pasted from an external site.

To upload a picture click on Upload File in the toolbox on the left of the page. But do looke over the policies regarding image uploading in WP:IMAGE. Also if you find an image that is a copyvio or a cut-paste job, place {{db-copyvio}} on it or {{copyvio}} on it & an administrator will soon delete it. Hope that helps. Cheers --Srikeit (Talk | Review me!) 03:28, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

How do I do a revert to a page? Also--How do I divide two articles? I am working on the Youth Noise site, though recently someone created a new article over the original one that has nothing to do with the prior one. I want to revert it back to the original article and try to preserve the other person's work on a different article name....Thanks Benje309 18:07, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

To revert an article back to a prior version, go to "History" and find the version of the article you want. Go to it. At the top, hit "Edit" or "Edit this page" depending on how far you've customized your tools, and it will say "Your are editing a prior version of this article" or something of that sort. By pressing "save" you are reverting the article back to this version.
For the Youth Noise article, I'm a bit confused. You moved the old Youth Noise article to some other place and worked on it there, someone restarted the Youth Noise article, and now you want to move your article back to Youth Noise? If so... i'll be right back with the answer as soon as you say yes :). GofG ||| Contribs 18:13, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

1st off--thanks for the quick response. See, I never moved the Youth Noise article, someone deleted the contents of it and overwrote the prior article. I don't want to get this new user mad by deleting his work, so can it be moved to a different article? Or should I just do the revert? Benje309 18:16, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow, someone just completely deleted it? Without discussion? I would put a message on their talk page explaining the situation. After looking through the history of the artcle, however, I cannot find where such a mass deletion happened. Could you give the diff of the delete? GofG ||| Contribs 18:22, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

I would revert it back to the Nov 7th page. The deletion happened on Nov 10th. Does that help?Benje309 18:25, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah, I see. You are refering to [1]. Honestly, that looks like a copyvio edit, as it's an insanely large amount of information coming in at the same time. Especially coming from an IP. I would ask on the article talk page what exactly should be done, in addition to asking the person why exactly they completely deleted an article to make room for theirs. GofG ||| Contribs 18:30, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks--I'm just a little worried that I am going to be starting a holy war by bringing it up.Benje309 18:34, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh no, not at all. His behavoir was slightly inexcusable. It might be more warish if it had been a username editing, but the fact that it's an IP just adds to the evidence of a copyvio. GofG ||| Contribs 18:46, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help

No problem! Glad to see you're helping!

I've pretty much done the season articles by myself, so it's going to take some getting used to having a helping hand with this. It's very much appreciated though! Let me know if you have any questions! --D-Day I'm all ears How can I improve? 22:30, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Upcoming NYC Meetup

You wanted to know when the next meetup was being organized in New York City. Plan for Saturday, 9 December 2006. While you're at it. Come help us decide on a restaurant. See: Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC. Spread the word. Thanks. —ExplorerCDT 22:50, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikimedia Foundation NYC chapter

Ben, fellow New Yorker and Wikipedian:

Would you be at all interested in the prospect of a New York WMF chapter? I'm currently canvassing Wikipedians in and around NYC about the idea. If at all interested, let me know. (Incidentally, I had thought of forming a Wikipedia running club as a vehicle for PR/fundraising and participating in NYC's many fine running events, does this interest you at all?) Best, Paul 19:07, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow, I didn't even bother to read the previous message on your talk page. I had no idea meetups were taking place. Anyway, let me know if you have any interest in my idea. Paul 19:08, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
