I consider myself a very experienced trail rider, pit bike racer and motorcycle repairer; and an intermediate skilled Motocross rider.

[edit] My Bikes
I currently own 2 motorbikes:
[edit] 1988 Yamaha YZ125
My most used bike and trusty steed, a big, grunty 1988 YZ125. Although I doubt much on it (other than perhaps the base frame) is still a 1988 relic. Previous owners have brought almost everything on the bike up to a modern standard, except the seat which I love for bumpy courses as it is inches thicker and softer and offers more room to maneuverer my prosterior than modern motocross seats.
- Modifications
- Fitted new mounts for the plastics in order to mount new 2006 factory plastic graphics
- Upgraded both brake systems including the pedal and lever.
- Put a new airbox in with a liquid drain, which of course I cut the top out of.
- Upgraded the radiator fittings and hoses and starting using 100% antifreeze only.
[edit] A Mitsubishi China manufactured pit bike
This is the bike I learned to ride and develop a love of motocross, and freestyle motocorss (and learned about motorcycles) on when I was 12. Manual clutch, 4-speed 107cc four-stroke. It has a Honda rip-off engine which I have had very few problems (the engine itself is the only good thing on it) with - all minor niggles. Everything else on the bike is shoddy and I have must have spent hundreds of hours (and dollars) on repairs.
[edit] Police Bike Project
Police Bike I am currently modifying my YZ125. I intend to:
- Fit blue and red LED lights to the front of the bars and the front and rear fenders.
- Install a 12 volt battery
- Affix a 30 watt, 135 decibel siren.
- Connect lights and siren to a computer programmable chip I will place on the CDI.
- Affix 3 switches to the left of the clutch lever on the bars. They will control:
- The lights - flashing on/off
- The siren - wailing siren on/off (slow wailing sound)
- The siren - Take down siren on/off (fast sound)
- Possibly paint the radiator shrouds in police livery.
