Largest computing-related disappointments:

1. online news services trending towards subscription requirements, rendering google news increasingly less useful, unless the user has (nearly) unlimited funds.

2. the progressive slowdown, release by release, of "speedy" firefox.

3. inadequate organization of the internet's programming and math-related educational resources.

4. the downfall of the original napster.

5. the progressive slowdown of every version of windows over time (usually with use, but sometimes without).

6. flash-based sites.

7. the fact that google searches wikipedia better than wikipedia itself.

8. google's "refinement" of searches resulting in fewer, less wide-ranging results (probably started April 2006?)
