[edit] Subjects I am Knowledgeable About
- Philosophy. An amatuer student of philosophy, I consider myself to be well read on the history of the subject.
- Information Technology. I have worked in the IT field since 1994, first as a Computer Technician, then as a Network Technician, then a Network Administrator, now as a Network Engineer. I have seen the rise of Linux in the industry, the overthrow of Novell by Microsoft's Windows NT product, the decline of UNIX and the rise of commodity networking.
[edit] Who is Benjamin N. Hare?
I was born in the small town of Eukia, California in the year 1975. When I was 11 years old (1986) I fell in love with comic books. Ever since that time I have been passionate about superheroes of all kinds, not only those who wear spandex and battle the forces of evil. When I was 13 years old (1988) I discovered role-playing games. Two years later I began running a Heroes Unlimited campaign that continues to the present.
My teenage years found me working in Cody, Wyoming at the "Cody Enterprise" newspaper for two years as a Typesetter and Graphic Designer (December 1993 - July 1996.) From there I moved on to a job with Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming where I worked in the Computer Services department as a Computer Technician. After three years at Northwest (July 1996 - July 1999) I began working for the Powell K-12 school district, this time as a Network Technician. A year later I was offered a job at the Worland, Wyoming K-12 school district as the Network Administrator (August 2000 to December 2004.)
Throughout all of this I obtained an A+ certification, MCSE (for Windows NT 4.0) and a single Novell NetWare 5.0 CNA certification. Most recently (Feb 18, 2005) obtained the Network+ certification from CompTIA.
My resume contains plenty of work experience and skills but it lacks a college degree. In order to obtain a degree I resigned from my job at the Worland K-12 school district in December of 2004. My goal is to obtain a degree in Information Technology Development from the Dublin Institute of Technology, in Dublin, Ireland.

Some odd notes:
- I do not suffer from the strange and debilitating disorder known as Prosopagnosia.
- In the year 2000, after I realized my addiction was hurting those I loved, I quit playing video games.
- My Dacryphilia causes problems at the most inopportune moments.
- A beautiful woman from Scotland called me a "dodgy geezer" on multiple occasions.
