Talk:Ben Griffin (former British soldier)

[edit] This article should be deleted
This "biography" is nothing more than an attempt to discredit the efforts of coalition forces currently fighting the global war on terrorism.
The biography is incomplete, has a POV bias and contributes nothing to the wikipedia community and its readers.
This article should remain. Rosa Parks was maybe less informed about the jurisprudence than Ben Griffin, but she did history, and I take out my hat for that. The American spirit will survive over time thanks to people that speak out what they think, whatever the consequences will be, and not because of "patriots" that put an American flag on their car and try to convince anyone that they are more Americans than the Americans. Actions versus empty words.
The article may become important over time, who knows... It is an example of living history and what one can achieve by following his conviction and speaking free. The biography is incomplete, thought. The global war on terror can be fought only by shooting people, isn't it? Any better ideas? See the opinions of Congressman John Murtha.
[edit] NPOV editing needed
This article is currently quote-heavy, and lacking in NPOV. It needs substantial editing to meet normal Wikipedia standards. -- Karada 15:15, 8 June 2006 (UTC)\
The article should remian. The way this man was treated for refusing to return to Iraq in comparison with Malcolm Kendall-Smith who also refused to return (at around the same time) is interesting and may well be a landmark in the future, we just don't yet know. It is not a biography as such, more a series of quotes from respected sources but it should stay as a reference to conscientious objectors and the way they are treated.
[edit] Hmm?
You know not being rude but this man has been to iraq and can point to it on a map. He is 'discrediting' the American forces becuase he has been there and would know alot more than you about the subject being a former special forces soldier. I personally think he is very brave for sticking to his convictions and I applaud him. However I despair at the Orwellian adoption of the jargon used in your comment 'global war on terrorism'.
