"Benwolf" is a Season 3 episode of the American animated television series Ben 10, which aired on February 17, 2007.
While in Arizona, Ben, Gwen, and Grandpa Max are visiting Wes, Max's old friend; Ben is bored to death. Ben, however, quickly meets Kai, Wes's granddaughter, and begins to develop a crush on her. Shortly afterwards, the sky clouds over and it begins to rain. After some lightning a large shadow appears behind the mist, and it quickly runs away. Wes identifies it as a Yenaldooshi, a Navajo werewolf. Ben asks Gwen to put in a good word for him to Kai, but she's, of course, no help.
While Ben, Max and Wes are tracking it, the Yenaldooshi appears. Ben turns into Wildvine to battle the werewolf, while Max admits that he has some explaining to do (made less difficult because Wes used to be a Plumber himself). While Ben is fighting against the Yenaldooshi, he gets bitten, though he says it didn't break the skin, or "root". Then Omnitrix times out and Ben turns back to his human form.
After some running, the Yenaldooshi slashes the Omnitrix, causing it to glow yellow and act strangely. The Yenaldooshi is seen above a tower; he disappears along with a satellite dish. Things swiftly worsen as Ben slowly changes into a Yenaldooshi himself. As Ben, Wes and Max attempt to find it again, Kai and Gwen seek the Arbol del Matrimonio cactus needed to defeat the Yenaldooshi. However, they quickly realize that the Yenaldooshi is in fact a space werewolf when the cactus juice doesn't work and Ben's new form completes itself.
Ben realizes that he didn't get scratched, but the Omnitrix did. Gwen points out the Omnitrix collected the werewolf's DNA and a new alien form is gained. The group continues after the alien, but he escapes. After all this, Kai admits that while Ben was cool as his new form, he's not her type. She says he is nice and the alien stuff is cool but not as cool as when he was the Yenaldooshi that she wanted to tame and train him. This makes Gwen angry and she gives Kai a stern talking to. The episode ends with the alien activating a device for unknown reasons.
[edit] Notes
- Benwolf is added to the Omnitrix.
- A strange machine is seen activating at the end of the episode.
- The original alien's sonic blast was purple, as were its eyes, but Ben's are both green.
- This is the first in a series of events involving aliens connected to purple lightning.
[edit] Goofs
- At the beginning of the episode, the receiver tower has no satellite dish on top, yet the "Yenaldooshi" steals a dish from the same tower.
