Bentyne Ice is a Christian rock band formed in 2006 in Detroit, Michigan named after NBA sensation Ben Wallace, and popular chewing gum brand Dentyne Ice.

Bentyne Ice was founded in early 2006 by Dan B and Dan M on guitar, and Jon L on drums. Bob M joined a few months after the band formed.

[edit] The Duct Tape Principle

Bentyne Ice began production of their debut album, The Duct Tape Principle in March of 2006. Production of this album was put on hold in September of 2006, in order to record, The Steve Irwin EP. The Duct Tape Principle is scheduled for release in late 2007, and will feature all-new songs by the band.[2]

After the death of television star Steve Irwin on September 4, 2006, Bentyne Ice put all other studio releases on hold in order to record an EP dedicated to his work. The Steve Irwin EP will feature 6 new songs dedicated to Steve Irwin, and is schedueled for release on September 4, 2007, in honor of the one year anniversary of Irwin's death.[3]
