Benjamin Paul Joppru (born January 5, 1980 in Dickinson, North Dakota) is an American football tight end for the Seattle Seahawks. He was selected by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft out of the University of Michigan. Had an Outstanding Senior season at Michigan being named an All-American. Had 53 catches that season which is more than any other tight end in a single season from the University of Michigan. Had 80 career catches for 800 yards and 8 TD's His career with the Texans never took off, because of multiple injuries. The Bears signed him to their practice squad on October 10, 2006, after the Texans cut him with the intent to sign him to their practice squad. However, in November of 2006, the Seattle Seahawks signed Joppru off of the Bears' practice squad. Father, Sheldon played in the World Football League for the Shreveport Steamer and the Detroit Wheels. Brother JJ Played Defensive Line at Fullerton Junior College before going to the University of Arizona. Would have been a good prospect in the NFL if he had not been hurt being 6'6 285 and running a 4.7 forty. Brother Chris plays tight end for the University of Utah, He is the most athletic of the brothers and has the most potential of the three. Family has a dog named Dottie who is a Dalmatian
