Benedetta Bianchi Porro

The Venerable Benedetta Bianchi Porro (8 August 193623 January 1964) was a Christian blessed, born in Dovadola, province of Forlì.

She became ill with polio during her teens.

In October 1953, at the age of 17, she enrolled in medical school in Milan to realize her dream of helping others.

Benedetta fell victim to the rare Von Recklinghausen's disease, which quickly leaves sufferers blind and deaf. She was forced by her illness to leave medical school. She succumbed on January 23, 1964.

In December of 1994, the Roman Catholic Church declared her a venerable person.
