The Bendigo Bombers are an Australian rules football club based in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia playing in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

The club entered the VFL in 1998 as the Bendigo Diggers.
In 2003, the club formed an alliance with the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League which results in fielding its reserves players and gaining a supporter base in the large regional city.
The Diggers moniker was changed to Bombers in the same year to reflect the moniker of the Essendon AFL club.
