[edit] Legend

After High School: the Erenköy Kız Lisesi in Turkey, Deniz visited a university in Switzerland for two years. For some time she played Dostlukspor in the first Turkish woman football crew. During this period, Deniz wrote some compositions and fiddled with the idea of publishing those songs.

[edit] Career

Incidentally, Deniz met a representative of a music company called of the Raks Müzik Yapım and they produced together her first album Bendeniz in the year 1993. Owing to the extravagant title song Ya Sen Ya Hiç, the album was a large success and sold over a million copies. Kanan Attack, a socio-critical German film by Feridun Zaimoğlu (2000) used a piece called Sana Mı Kaldım from her 1996 album Bendeniz III. Deniz is one of the Turkish popstars to begin in the early 90's and still last in the business.
