Ben Kennedy (goalkeeper)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ben Kennedy (born February 14, 1987 in Newcastle, Australia) is a football (soccer) goalkeeper who currently plays for A-League outfit the Newcastle United Jets. Kennedy has been a train-on player for the Jets but with such obvious potential has been brought into the full squad for the 2006/07 Hyundai A-League season. He is a natural goalkeeper. Good with crosses, has good shot stopping reflexes and the more experience he gets the more he will impose his presence in the game. Until recently in the 2006-2007 a-league season, the NUJFC only had the inexperienced Ben Kennedy as a registered goalkeeper in their squad, so Kennedy, although one of the youngest goalkeepers in the world to be contracted to a fully professional club at the highest level of any country, has received 13 first-team caps in the league, with 3 clean sheets.
