From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Benjamin Leonard Hutton, (born Johannesburg, South Africa January 29, 1977), is a cricketer who plays for Middlesex, and captained the county in 2005 and 2006. He is the elder son of the cricketer Richard Hutton and was educated at Radley College and Durham University.

He is a left-handed opening batsman, an enthusiastic fielder and occasional right-arm fast-medium bowler. He made his first-class debut in 1999 and was awarded his county cap in 2004. He was appointed County Captain in 2005, but stood down at the end of the following year after a bad season in which Middlesex were relegated in both competitions, and in which Hutton scored under 500 runs in ten County Championship games, as well as missing the middle of the season because of shingles. [1]

His grandfathers Sir Leonard Hutton (Yorkshire), Ben Brocklehurst (Somerset), his father Richard Hutton (Yorkshire) and his brother Oliver Hutton (Oxford UCCE) all played first-class cricket.
