Ben Heffernan is a notorious street enforcer in the Superman series of comics, although has rarely been mentioned in any of the television spin offs. He is a very dark character and not much is known about his past, except for speculation, however they do know that from an early age he was taught the deadly arts. He has many aliases in the comic, most often known as "The Sleeper cell" for his penchant to choke out victims.

He works for the intergang, although has been known once or twice to go rogue. His clashes with superman are rare, like Batman he knows his own city inside out, and although not Super strong or fast like Superman, he is athletic and can slip away into the alleys and shadows as silently as he appears. Some commentators believe there to be some link between him and Batman, as they often portray similar strengths, abilities and characteristics.
